VENISON CHOW MEIN
A spicy venison dish served on a bed of
rice and chow mein noodles

Ingredients |
Utensils |
| 1 3/4 pounds venison stew meat |
Large skillet |
| 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons soy
sauce |
|
| 1 cup water |
|
| 1 bunch celery, cut into 1/2
inch pieces |
|
| 1 onion, chopped |
|
| 2 tablespoons cornstarch |
|
| 1/4 cup water |
|
| Small can sliced water chestnuts |
|
| 20 oz. can bean sprouts, drained |
|
| Salt and pepper |
|
| Rice |
|
| Chow
mein noodles |
|
Directions
Remove all tallow from venison and dice meat
Brown in large skillet
Add soy sauce and 1 cup water and simmer for 2 minutes
Add celery, including leaves, and onion
Simmer for 1 1/2 hours
Blend cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and stir into meat mixture
Add water chestnuts, bean sprouts and mushrooms
Season with salt and pepper to taste and heat through
Serve over rice with chow mein noodles |
